China day 3

Today was another site seeing tour, The Summer Palace is a thing of beauty, and by the sound of our tour guide alot of hard work.

The whole place was built for the royalty to reside during the summer months, but to build the palace would have taken and eternity, the lake alone was all dug out by man and the fill was used to build the hill side, Mind blowing!

The Long corridor was ridiculously long and the Palaces were very well kept, it is great to see how proud the chinese people are of their history, the boat ride back to the main gate was fun, especially with all the skaters.

The crazy thing about the Palace is that it looks like its in the middle of a normal neighbourhood, and then once your through the front door it just opens up into this vast area of beauty.

After the Palace our Chinese hosts took us for a traditional Peking Duck Diner, not my cup of tea, but hey we all gave it a try, and they were great hosts.

Get to do some riding tomorrow!
